Website Optimization

What is a Website Optimization?

This part deals with those elements and aspects of your site that should be optimized for Google in order to increase relevant keywords. You want to maximize how relevant your website and pages are to a given search question for a given search keyphrase or keyword. In addition to optimizing your site for Google, you should also effort to adding some best practices into your website structure and design.
Before we begin, make sure you do not seen the obvious: Your website must contain original, high-quality, timely, useful content that people will actually want to read and take a next-step action on.
It is amazing how often this statement is skipped. You should spend more time creating relevant and useful content, and less time on lavish graphics, causeless animations, or Flash – especially on your home page. Remember that Google uses automated software to analyze the text or content on your website. It will ignore graphics and other
multimedia elements like flash on your website - and often your customers will too. Think of SEO or search engine optimization as a long term investment in your website “infrastructure”. Once your website is optimized, it stays optimized and keeps its ranking over time (but not forever – you still need to update your site on a regular basis). This means free traffic over time. Compare that with paid advertising such as Google AdWords or Yahoo Search Marketing (formerly known as suggestion or overture) where the minute you stop paying for your ads, your traffic goes away – it is a gone your cost.
